Chanin Engineering provided complete structural design services for the new, 181,495-Square-foot Medical Academy facility built specifically for a medically-themed high school.
The campus is located in Olmito, Texas to allow the district to better serve the families of Cameron County. This new facility will allow enrollment to grow to a capacity of about 775 students. Structurally, the facility consists of a slab on grade foundation, perimeter CMU walls, and structural steel beams with metal joist roof framing.
The facility opened to teachers and students in August 2015.
